Slab - Drainage
Your concrete slab has been designed to suit the soil and surrounding land conditions. It is not uncommon for homes to experience some degree of movement. Cracking may result and can be within acceptable tolerances for this standard and not considered a defect. Cracks greater than 2mm in width are considered defects and you should report to us straight away.
ENSURE THAT NO WATER FROM NEIGHBORING PROPERTY IS DRAINING ONTO YOUR LAND.
- Should not plant shrubs or trees or place water features against the house that may cause a change to the under slab moisture and encourage termite infestation.
- Avoid hosing the walls or the slab edges of your home.
- It is important that anything you install does not alter or interfere with the drainage designed for your home.
- Consult a licensed plumber for any work that will alter the drainage around your home. eg. raised garden beds, retaining walls, paving etc.
